FAQ
Finding a vet in Québec: your questions.
Answers to the questions pet parents ask us most often.
I don't have a vet. What can I do?
Make a request on GOvet. It goes to partner clinics, and a clinic with an opening can propose an appointment. GOvet doesn't replace your usual veterinarian: it helps you find one when yours has no opening.
How can I get a vet appointment quickly?
Instead of calling clinics one by one, you make a single request. Partner clinics with an opening see it and can propose a time. How soon depends on available openings: we can't guarantee it.
Go to an emergency vet or wait for an appointment?
If you think your pet's life is in danger, don't wait: call or go straight to an emergency veterinary clinic. GOvet is not an emergency service. When in doubt, call a clinic.
How much does GOvet cost?
GOvet is a new initiative: the service is free for the first month after launch. The consultation itself is billed by the clinic that sees you.
How does GOvet work?
You describe what's going on with your dog or cat on your phone, in your own words, typed or by voice dictation, with photos if you like. GOvet proposes answers you confirm one by one. The clinic receives a clear summary and chooses whom to offer an appointment.
Does GOvet make a diagnosis?
No. GOvet makes no diagnosis: the vet decides. GOvet only prepares a summary from the answers you confirmed.
Where is GOvet available?
